Background

At Noche De Ciencias, students will experience various hands-on activities about the different fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) with volunteers who are real-life and aspiring engineers and scientists.

While the students enjoy their activities, parents will participate in round-tables to learn about college admissions and programs available to finance higher education costs. They will also learn how and why its important to start early.

The Students

This spring, our participants will be 11 to 13 year-old students of William Sheppard Middle School.  The event will take place during an early afternoon assembly and will be part of their school curriculum.

Volunteering

We are expecting a large enthusiastic group of approximately 250 students between ages 11-13, as well as parents to participate.  We need your help!

Once submitted, our volunteer coordinator Lemuel Lebron will reach out to you for further details and instructions.

There will be 2 conference calls for volunteers as an opportunity to go over the logistics of the event, answer questions about student activities, and to confirm your attendance. Volunteers are requested to attend at least one of the conference calls on the dates below, so please add them your calendar:

Tuesday, May 19 @ 12:30-1pm
Wednesday, May 20 @ 6-6:30pm

*The conference phone number will be e-mailed out to volunteers.
