On August 13, 2010, SHPE Silicon Valley President David Silva along with SHPE National President Manny Hernandez and several SHPE national leaders including SHPE-NYC President Edward Montenegro and SHPE-NYC Communications Vice President Luis Miranda were invited to join the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) at the NASDAQ opening bell ceremony.
HITEC was founded by senior Hispanic IT executives who have built outstanding careers in IT, but realized that there were far too few Hispanic in the IT leadership role. SHPE Silicon Valley will leverage its relationship with HITEC to help its members climb from the professional to the executive ranks.
