The Silicon Valley Engineering Council (SVEC) has extended its deadline for Scholarship Applications to February 5, 2011. Please send your applications as soon as possible postmarked by Feb. 5, 2011.

The Silicon Valley Engineering Council Engineering Education awards recognize engineering and technology students for their dedication, focus, and commitment to engineering. *Engineering and Technology students graduating from high school, or presently enrolled in undergraduate community college and university programs are eligible to apply.* Fulltime and part-time students are eligible. Students may receive an SVEC Scholarship award only once. Graduate students are not eligible.

Application must be submitted by February 5, 2011. Download the MS Word document for eligibility, application, and additional information at https://shpe-sv.org/scholarships/SVECEducationAwardsApplication2011.doc. The scholarship application form can also be downloaded from the SVEC website: http://www.svec.org/scholarship-awards.html

It requires a short essay (about 150 to 250 words) describing your academic and professional goals. You are NOT required to be a member of any technical society. Please note that this year we are NOT requiring official transcripts – an unofficial printout will be fine. Scholarship winners will be announced and awarded at the Annual SVEC Engineers Week Banquet on February 24, 2011.

We would appreciate if you make students aware of this SVEC Scholarship award opportunity. Please pass this along to educators, especially those with 12th graders! Thank you!

Best regards-
