Raul Vazquez

Executive Vice President of Global eCommerce for Wal-Mart Stores Inc and former CEO of Walmart.com, Raul Vazquez, delivered the afternoon keynote address at the SHPE Region 1 Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) at Stanford University on April 2, 2011. Raul spoke about leadership, career development, and seeking opportunities that challenge your views in the context of his own personal experiences growing up in El Paso to attending to Stanford University to his executive career at Walmart.


Biography:
Raul Vazquez
Executive Vice President, Global eCommerce, Developed Markets

Raul Vazquez is executive vice president of Global eCommerce for developed markets, and is responsible for defining multi-channel strategies and delivering financial results in key developed markets – the United States, Canada and United Kingdom.

Previously, he was executive vice president and president of Walmart’s west geographic business unit, with responsibility for store operations, real estate, public affairs, supply chain and human resources functions for 1,200 stores in 23 states. Prior to that role, Raul served as president and CEO of Walmart.com.

Before joining Walmart in 2002, Raul worked at startup companies within the ecommerce industry. Prior to that time, he spent several years at a boutique consulting firm that specializes in competitive strategy for Fortune 100 firms, and as an industrial engineer at Baxter Healthcare.

Raul is a graduate of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, and also received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial engineering from Stanford University.
