On Thursday, December 2nd, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and the Bay Area Black Professionals (ONYX) had its 2nd Annual Joint Holiday Networking Mixer sponsored by Google and hosted on their campus in Mountain View, CA.

This year’s event had approximately 250 attendees which surpassed last year’s attendance record by 80 more attendees (an increase of 50%)! Professionals from the Silicon Valley and Bay Area networked and mingled at the Google campus with various appetizers and drinks. The event kicked-off with a welcome introduction from Holly Benson followed by fellow Googler, Ed Bailey with a keynote address about Google diversity and outreach.

Afterwards, the leaders from NSBE, ONYX, SWE, and SHPE each gave a brief introduction about their individual organizations and how to get involved. For SHPE Silicon Valley, Co-Presidents, David Silva and Rosalinda Zepeda, each gave a short introduction about the chapter and premiered a video highlighting our accomplishments over the last 2+ years.
