On Wednesday, August 29, 2012, Latinos in Social Media (LATISM) Bay Area Chapter hosts a Back to School panel discussion by exploring the importance of Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Math education and what it means to the Latino community.

Panelists:
– Gaby Baylon, PhD Student, Mechanical Engineering, Stanford University
– Carlos Bueno, Engineer and writer of Lauren Ipsum, a children’s book introducing youngsters to coding.
– Claudia Galván, Director of Product Management at YouSendit, 2008 recipient of the Microsoft Global Product Development Leadership award. Board member for Notre Dame High School in San Jose, focusing on driving STEM initiatives.
– Jesse Martinez, Founder and Director, SPARK SF, a non profit effort teaching coding and entrepreneurial thinking high school students.

Event will feature a panel presentation and a network happy hour presented by Wilmer Hale and Lightt.
