Job Description and Requirements
Position Title: Software Engineer
Business Unit: Plasma Control Technologies
Staff Level: Full Time, Exempt
1. Key Areas of responsibility (strategic overview)
- Sustaining engineer for existing software / firmware for custom embedded systems in RF modules on semiconductor processing tools
- Maintain, modify, test and debug existing and newly developed software / firmware
- Modify existing software for new applications as required
2. Additional duties and responsibilities (operational / tactical)
- Test, verify, and debug existing and newly developed software / firmware
- Modify existing software to meet the requirements for new products with inputs from RF and applications engineers
- Execute performance verification and validation activities to ensure high quality results
- Implement control algorithms and support development of embedded controls-based software
- Develop and maintain software documentation, manuals, and instructions
3. Position requirements (experience / technical skills / education)
- Degree in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related degree / experience.
- Advanced C/C++ programming experience
- C/C++ programming experience on RTOS (TI’s DSP-BIOS/SYS-BIOS CCS preferred)
- Schematic capture experience
- Working knowledge of related lab equipment, oscilloscopes, logic analysers, etc.
- Working knowledge of serial communication protocols, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, PRO-FIBUS, EtherCAT extremely helpful
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

5. Interpersonal skills (Leadership / Management / Communication Skills)
- Must be a team player
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced small team environment, with little or no supervision.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization
