The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1974 to form a national organization of professional engineers to serve as role models in the Hispanic community.

We provide multiple opportunities every year to hone our members’ professional, technical, and leadership skills. We strive to have the Hispanic community reach its fullest potential to impact the world.
Community Outreach
Our members participate in various community service opportunities throughout the peninsula. Schools, museums, other professional associations ask for volunteers from our membership for mentors, speakers, instructors, and coordinators.
